This is a beer brewing kit built for a great first batch. This Munich Helles recipe kit comes with every pre-measured ingredient you need to brew Martin's Recycled Water German Helles, a 5-gallon all-grain batch, from grain to glass.

The hook here is the water. Martin brewed this Helles with recycled water to see whether the source would show through in a style this bare, and a pale Bavarian lager is about the most honest test there is. With almost no hops or roast to mask it, a Helles lives and dies on clean malt and clean water.

The beer itself is a straightforward Munich Helles, soft and bready from Pilsner malt, gently balanced by noble Hallertau, pale gold and dry at a touch over 5%. The kind of beer that reveals any flaw, which is exactly what made it a good experiment.
