Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky

Used. Paperback. When humanity’s cosmic moving day hits a major hitch, the search for a starry sanctuary leads weary wanderers to a terraformed world that’s already terribly taken. Adrian Tchaikovsky’s brilliant speculative epic pits our desperate diaspora against an unexpected and astonishingly evolved planetary populace. It is a wildly imaginative, multi-millennial chess match exploring intelligence, empire, and evolution on a truly staggering scale. Grab a copy and prepare to look at your neighborhood arachnids with a whole lot more appreciation—or absolute terror.
